Favorite Local Coffee Shops
If you know Doulas of Raleigh Co-Owners, Kelly and Heather, then you know know how much we love coffee. We jokingly (kinda) refer to coffee as our love language. Doulas do a lot of supporting of people all hours of the day so coffee is basically doula-fuel. Rest assured, any time we get together to discuss business, coffee is going to be involved. This means we have become experts on knowing where to find the caffeinated good good here in the Triangle. Take a look at what we think are some of the best coffee shops in the area.
Downtown Raleigh, North Hills, and North Raleigh
Jubala Coffee has three locations in this area. They use a local roaster and brew to oarder. Jubala has all the usual coffee drinks on the menu but they also include specialty drinnks like the Miele, a latte with honey cinnamon syrup that they make right there at Jubala. If you need some food to go with your coffee, they have a great breakfast and lunch menu.
Sola Coffee is located in North Raleigh and they are open all day for food and drinks. We love all the natural light and plants inside the store. If it’s a nice day there’s also plenty of outdoor seating. Sola uses Counter Culture coffee as a base for all their coffee drinks. If you are with someone who isn’t a coffee-drinker (weirdo) Soia offers many non-coffee options, including wine and beer. They also have a TON of delicious treats to eat.
We are here probably more than we are at our office off of Hargett St. It’s so close it’s dangerous. We enjoy several of their coffee-based drinks but Kelly loves their dirty chai the most. The Morning Times has great seating both upstairs and outside. If you are hungry it’s also a great place to grab breakfast or lunch.
This is another place that sees a lot of us since it’s only a couple of blocks from the office. Whille Lucette Grace is officially a patisserie, they have many different coffee options Also, it’s delicious. If you can’t find a delicious French pastry to eat here along with your fresh coffee then you aren’t lving your best life.
Cary, Apex, and Morrisville
Crema is located in Cary and has several delicious coffee options. Kelly loves their Flat White! You’ll also appreciate that Crema has many baked goods available for you to eat while you enjoy your coffee.
While La Farm is mostly known as a French bakery, they also have excellent coffee. Before Doulas of Raleigh had a brick and mortar location, Kelly and Heather would often have business meetings at La Farm! While we sampled most of their coffee drinks we really appreciate the beautiful latte art created by the baristas.
Garner and Clayton
Full Bloom is located on Main St in the heart of downtown Garner. They roast all of their own coffee and you can taste the freshly ground coffee beans in all their coffee-based drinks. Full Bloom also offers several sandwiches and pastries. They even offer Craft beer. Full Bloom has its own special ambience as a restored older buidling with beautiful hardwood floors. You might even enjoy going upstairs to play some games or get a little work done at one of the tables. Occasionaly, there is live entertainment in the upstairs area on the weekends. Heather’s pick here is the Honey Vanilla Cappucinno.
The Ugly Mug is in South Garner area of 40/42. The steam punk decor is fun and there’s plenty of seating both indoorrs and out. This is one of Heather’s places to get brunch…Absolutely get the Carmelized Brown Sugar Toast to go with your Alchemist (white chocolate, english toffee, and raspberry latte). The Ugly Mug is happy to make your favorite drink hot, cold, or blended.
The Muse one of Garner’s newer coffee shops and it has been a welcome addition to the area. The baristas are always super friendly when we go in. There are a few comfy couches and chairs as well as a few stools along a bar by the front windows. While Heather’s favorite drink here is the Nature Lovers you really should stop by this Fall to try some of the seasonal drinks. We recommend the Pumpkin Spice Chai!
Aversboro Coffee is Garner’s first and oldest coffee shop. Although there are now several locations, the folks of Garner have been enjoying hot coffee and good conversation at this location for many years. The White Snickers latte is hot and delicious!
Durham
Durham has several amazing coffee shops. While we don’t get out that way too often we do have a few team members that live in the area and gave us their recommendations.
Cocoa Cinnamon has several locations and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Our sources tell us that the carmello is the drink to get here!
Joe Vangogh has several locations in Durham and Chapel Hill. Apparently any coffee that you order will be caffeinated perfection!
Coffee beans are sourced right here in North Carolina so it’s going to be fresh! If you like oat milk in your coffee this is a great place that offers many options!
Fuquay and Holly Springs
Ok, so Stick Boy is actually a bakery but they also have amazing organic coffee. They source their coffee from Larry’s Coffee and Five Star Coffee Roasters in Raleigh. Plus, it’s right in the heart of downtown Fuquay so you get a little bit of that small-town ambience along with your coffee and pastry.
Drive Bru (@drivebru)
This is one of the few locally owned coffee drive-thrus in the Triangle. The coffee is always fresh and the hot and the baristas are very friendly. They also have a lot of Keto-friendly eats to go along with your coffee.
