Baby it's Cold Outside (5 Places to Visit w Your Baby)

If you're like us, you don't know how you've suddenly found yourself living in the Arctic tundra the last several days. And, if you're like us, you are battling some major cabin fever! Don't fret. We've got 5 great places you can go in Raleigh and surrounding towns to get out of the house when the temperature stays below freezing. Even better, all of these places are baby and toddler friendly. Check them out:

1. Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an indoor play area for little ones to run free while moms and dads enjoy beverages from the coffee bar. You can check out this awesome place in our blog post where we interviewed the owner.

2. Marbles Kid's Museum
Marbles is a kid-favorite here in Raleigh. We love that it promotes imaginative play while helping kids learn about the world around them. Babies and toddles will especially love BB&T Toddlers Hollow where they can practice all their new motor skills in a safe environment. While there is an admission fee, visitors under 1 may come and play for free.

3. North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (Nature Exploration Center)
We have spent many chilly days exploring this amazing museum in downtown Raleigh. The wonderful thing about this place is that scientists of all ages are welcome. Wearing your baby and walking through the museum is a great way to get a little one involved. Talk to your baby about what you are seeing around you and at the exhibits. If you have a toddler or preschooler in tow we highly recommend stopping by the Discovery Room on the 2nd floor. Tuesday mornings are especially reserved for for this age group. Children are encouraged to be very hands on, explore the whole room, and even enjoy dressing up as different animals!

4. JumpStreet Cary
When the kids are bouncing off the walls at home bring them to a place where they're actually encouraged to bounce! JumpStreet does have several trampolines for older children but they have a special section called the Earthquake Zone for the 3 and under crowd which features a couple of really cute bouncy houses and small slides. They often run BOGO specials so be sure to check the website before you go.

5. Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center
What better way to beat the winter blues than to have some waterplay fun! This aquatic center features a play area for toddlers where they can enjoy water slides, water buckets, and a water curtain. And what baby doesn't love to sit in the water and splash?!

We hope you are able to get outside the walls of your house and have some fun with your little ones. Getting outside of the house will lift your spirits and help you be more able to focus on spending some quality time with your kids. So, round up the coats and gloves, and get ready for some winter adventures!
