Halloween Costume Ideas
If you are going to be visibly pregnant this year for Halloween, you have the opportunity to incorporate your baby belly into an amazing costume! In fact, your belly can even just BE the costume. Check out some ideas below.
If you are willing to paint your belly, you have several options. Take a very large Tshirt and cut out a hole for your belly. Then paint the exposed belly. You have tons of options depending on what color you want to use on your belly.
If you want to use orange, you can go with the standard pumpkin look…just add some brown felt or construction paper to your Tshirt for the pumpkin stem. Another fun thing to do with orange paint is to create a basketball. Some people even take a mini-hoop and stick it under their belly so it looks like the basketball is going into the hoop. Your partner can dress up as a basketball player! If you want to use blue paint you can paint your belly like the Earth and wear a black tshirt. Green and white paint can create a cute little watermelon belly. Another fun idea is to paint your belly like an eyeball and wear a green shirt…now you’re Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc! This is an especially fun idea if you have a toddler than you can dress as Boo. If you have some white paint you can make your belly into a golf ball.. Your partner can dress like a golf caddy. If you have some brown paint, wear green clothes and voila! now you are an avocado!
If you aren’t into painting your belly that’s totally Ok. You can still have some fun with your costume. You can wear a sold color shirt and the same color of pants. Draw a large circle where your belly will protrude from under the shirt. Then cut out lots of different colors of construction paper or felt and attach them inside the circle..now you are a gum ball machine! We’ve also had folks dress as Juno from the movie of the same name (easy costume if you don’t feel like crafting or searching for materials). We also had a family dress as lions, tigers, and bears..the mom-to-be wore a white Tshirt with the words “Oh My!” on the belly…so fun and so cute!
We want to thank all of our followers, former clients., doulas on our team, and friends for all the suggestions found above!
Of course, maybe all this sounds terrible to you. If dressing up for Halloween isn’t for you, that’s totally OK too. Put on your most comfy maternity leggings, fire up Netflix, and enjoy your Halloween candy in peace!
