Father's Day Ideas - Fun Experiences for Dads in Raleigh
If you’re anything like me, Father’s Day ALWAYS sneaks up on you and you’re left scrambling for something fun and exciting to gift your partner besides another “World’s Best Dad” mug. Please tell me I’m not alone. Solidarity.
So this year, I’m trying to get ahead of the game and put together ideas for some fun experiences for the dad in your life. Whether the dad in life is in to golf, beer, nature, or axe throwing (yep, that’s a thing now), we’ve got him covered with our list below.
Drive Shack
Want to make golf fun for the whole family? Head over to Drive Shack in Raleigh. This high-tech driving range has three levels of bays you can drive golf balls from, as well as food and drink delivered right to you. So reserve a bay, have some lunch, and get to swinging.
Wreck It Rage Room
Looking for a place to blow off a little steam without raising any eyebrows? Look no further than a rage room. At Wreck It, you can destroy stuff with bats and sledgehammers or if that’s not your thing, sling some paint everywhere to reduce a little stress. If you’ve ever just wanted to break something, this is your place.
City Brew Tours
If the dad in your life is in to the beer scene, book a City Brew Tour for him. He’ll be carted around Raleigh in style (and it’s always great to have a designated driver) and will go behind the scenes at several local breweries while also sampling the local brews.
The Crazy Axe
Have you heard of axe throwing? It’s the newest fun activity to satisfy your inner lumber jack. Test your aim and your arm and let those axes fly in a safe space.
King’s Bowling
After golf, bowling has to be the ultimate dad sport. Take him to King’s, a retro, fun bowling alley with lanes and lots of great food and drinks. See how many strikes dad can bowl.
Diavolo at New Hope Disc Golf
If your dad is into disc golf (or frolf as the cool kids call it), then he’s in luck. Right outside of Raleigh, in Cary, is one of the nation’s premier disc golf courses. Grab your frisbees and spend the day outside, hitting targets.
TreeRunner
If your dad is more of the adrenaline-seeking, adventure type, head over to TreeRunner Adventure Park. This ropes course has levels for all skill-sets, with obstacles, zip lines, and more.
Adventure Speedway Go-Kart
For the speed demon in your life, check out the Adventure Speedway Go-Kart track at Adventure Landing. And remember, it’s only fair to let dad grab that checkered flag on his special day.
Triangle Drive-In
Want to give the movie lover in your life a special experience? Why not take dad to a drive-in movie. Just in time for the new Jurassic Park movie, too. You can’t beat outdoor movies and dinosaurs.
Jordan Lake
If your dad is the nature-lover type, than you can’t wrong with a day spent at Jordan Lake. Hike the trails, find a quiet fishing spot, or rent a pontoon boat for a day out on the lake. This is sure to make the outdoorsy dads happy.
Okay, people! I think we have the dads covered this year. Whew! Go out there and have some fun with the dad (or whoever fills that role) in your life. They deserve some appreciation for all those excellent dad jokes!
